The A.R.E.® Northeast Region Power of Prayer (POP) Network is a group of committed people who have agreed to pray for those requesting prayer. Anyone who is willing to commit to pray for others is welcome to join the circle, which has operated effectively in the Region since the early 1990s.
The A.R.E.® Northeast Region Power of Prayer Network prays for those who request to be prayed for, makes calls when a special request comes in, and sends in names of those seeking help. The POP network runs like a cord through each state in the Northeast Region, with members linked to each other in a phone circle.
Edgar Cayce advised all, “Be oft in prayer.” Whether we follow a ritual, speak aloud, or pause for a moment of silence, prayer links us to our Higher Self, the Universal Forces and to each other. Its power can heal broken spirits, diseased bodies and difficult situations.
The promise in keeping a commitment to pray, once it is made, is emphasized by Cayce in this excerpt from a reading for the original 1932 A.R.E.® prayer group, the Glad Helpers:
“Ye have begun a helpful, hopeful work among thy fellow man. Be ye not weary, then, in well-doing; nor become negligent or unmindful of the little things that may bring to thy consciousness the spreading of the awareness of the Christ's love for each of you.
“For He stands at the door of thy heart, of thy consciousness; and as He has given, "Ask in my name, believing, and it shall be done unto thee.
“What greater promise, what greater blessing may come to any soul than to know that He cares! Yea, that He is mindful of thy petitions, of thy aches, thy pains, thy disappointments, thy sorrows, thy joys, thy exultations.
“Then, stand ye as true friends of Him who gave His life that YE might have life and have it more abundantly.”
